THE VISTA AT SHAW HALL: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where can I eat at The Vista at Shaw?

The Vista at Shaw features three individual restaurant-style venues:

Bread Box: Hearth-baked pizzas, hearty pastas, deli-style sandwiches and full breakfasts to start your day the right way

Garden Wok: Fresh mix of vegetarian/vegan entrees and Pan-Asian dishes – from noodles and stir-fry to curries

Main Street: Homestyle favorites from rotisserie and carved meats, to comfort foods and daily specialty sandwiches and sides

How is The Vista at Shaw different from the other dining halls on campus?

With its unique and sustainable design, The Vista at Shaw features three individual restaurant-style venues, each with their own daily menu, atmosphere and seating areas. Guests are encouraged to choose the restaurant-style venue that best meets their mood and tastes for the day and enjoy a complete plate with entrée, sides, salad and dessert. Its original and diverse recipes were developed, tested and perfected by River Trail Neighborhood Executive Chef Kevin Cruz and the dedicated River Trail culinary team.

Why is it called "The Vista" at Shaw?

Vista means view, and that's what you get at The Vista at Shaw: a floor-to-ceiling view of the Red Cedar River as it flows through central campus while you dine.

Why is The Vista at Shaw a trayless dining hall?

With its three restaurant-style venues, The Vista at Shaw was designed as a trayless dining hall, conveniently locating seating, beverages, flatware, desserts and salad bar all in close proximity of each venue's seating area.
