Fall 2010 Returning Student Housing Sign-Up
Choosing where to live next year is a big decision. This is your college experience we’re talking about; don’t rush into something you may regret. You owe it to yourself to take time to think things over, consider all your options and pick a housing option that best fits your lifestyle and your schedule.
Online Sign-Up for fall 2010 starts soon and goes through spring semester — giving you plenty of time to pick out your own personal place on campus. When considering your options, be sure to consider all the facts. Use our Housing Costs Comparison Worksheet (PDF) to compare your options.
• Many single rooms will be available next fall
• All residence halls are non-smoking
• Summer housing is available in limited locations
• Students must have at least 28 credits by the start of fall semester to live off campus
Residence Hall Sign-Up Dates
• January 19 (9 a.m.) - January 21 (midnight): Guarantee your current space for next year. If you'd like to select a new roommate, you can do so on January 26
(9 a.m.) - January 27 (midnight).
• January 28 (9 a.m.) - January 29 (midnight): Move to a new space in your hall.
• February 3 (9 a.m.) - February 12 (midnight): Get a single room anywhere, pending availability.
• February 16 (9 a.m.) - April 16 (midnight): Get a double room anywhere.
• After April 16: Online sign-up is not available. Contact the Housing Assignments Office at 517-884-LIVE or liveon@msu.edu to reserve a room.

Getting Ready to Complete Online Sign-up?
Please note that at the online sign-up system works with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Netscape browsers. Please plan to use one of these browers when completing sign-up.
Plan on Selecting a Roommate?
In order to select a roommate through the online process, you will need the person's last name and MyHousing identification number. The MyHousing number can be found at the top of the page when you login to MyHousing.
Need to Change Your Housing Assignment?
If you've already completed online sign-up for the residence halls and want to change your assignment, contact the Housing Assignments Office. If you'd like to change your assignment for University Village, call 517-353-8880 or e-mail UVInfo@mail.hfs.msu.edu.
