Meet Chef Kurt Kwiatkowski Corporate Chef, MSU Culinary Services
What experience do you bring to the table?
I've been with MSU for more than 10 years. I guided the development of The Gallery at Snyder/Phillips, our first renovated dining hall. I have worked at The State Room Restaurant and teach hospitality business classes at MSU. Before joining MSU, I was a chef at Mountain Jacks and Morrison's Restaurant Company.
What are your favorite foods to cook?
At home, I continue to work on the perfect burger, and very much enjoy cooking different kinds of fish.
Why do you love being a chef?
My artistic and creative side gets to come out! I enjoy the opportunity to be able to create and learn about new dishes. There are so many different styles of food and cuisine from around the world; I feel that I have so much more knowledge to gain so I can better my craft.
How do you serve social responsibility on campus?
I care about mentoring the next generation of chefs. Being able to bring students into work with me who are passionate about food and want to learn more about the business is very rewarding.
What is the best thing about being a Spartan?
Every day I get to come onto this beautiful campus and experience the Spartan life first hand!
